Seen from this perspective - both the conceptual development of operational art and its Russian practice on the ground - Russia’s Ukraine campaign appears to have underperformed, if not violated, three critical elements of the planning process for major, multiple-axes operations in Ukraine: depth, operational reach and culmination.
